5 Top Trends For Summer

Summer is right around the corner, and that means men are leaving the heavy sweaters and boot for short and sandals. Here are 5 of the biggest trends for this summer.

1. White All Over

I'm one of those people that usually does not like to wear one solid color in their outfit, but I must admit white might be the only exception. White has always been one of those go to colors due to the fact that its a color for any occasion. I've noticed a broad variety of  designers, bloggers, and celebrities throwing out the gloomy colors of winter and adding white. Zara , McQueen, and Mariano Di have are rocking the white button downs and white trouser to endure this sunny summer which I must admit it may be a summer to remember.  If you guys are look to add white into your wardrobe I suggest you guy check out Topman, Zara, Asos, or All Saints.

2. The Wider The Stripes The Better

I have to admit... I am a total sucker for stripes. I am stoked to see that designers have decided to use wide stripes in their collection  to bring back the sailor look. Some designers have gone out of the box and create color blocks as their armor for their collection.  For those people who like quality and live in Europe I suggest you guys check out Oki-Ni. This site provides designer brands such as Acne, Rick Owens and many more. Now.. for those of us that are in school (and a budget) then I suggest you guys check out my currently favorite store, American Apparel

3. Warm Leather

Another big trend that will bee seen during the summer is the usage of leather, whether it is leather short, vests, or tee shirt; expect to see a lot of it on the street. Dsquared and other brands have decided to keep it simple and top of the leather with neutral colors. Now, I must warm those people that live in area's where the heat in summer reaches up to 100 degree's to probably consider if leather is a great idea to have in your closet. I would recommend you guys to probably go with a light fabric such as linen. I know Zara had a lot of linen clothing for the summer that you guys can buy if you want good quality. If you decide to wear the leather then make sure to check out Urban Outfitters or Topman.

4. 40's/ 50's Influence

My summer motto this year is "The lower the shirt, the better." I am glad to see  designers doing throwbacks in their collection utilizing short shorts, high waisted loose trousers, and open up button downs as their inspirations for this summer. Not only that, but the 50s hairstyles that were seen a lot last year are still around such as the bravado, corporate and side part hairstyles. One of my favorite looks from this summer collection was Dolce and Gabbana because they constructed the short shorts with oversized sleeves on the shirts and added mythological print such as the God Apollo and Zeus. I was amazed when I saw this collection and how they gather the big trends form the 40s/50s and made it their own masterpiece. I strongly suggest that you guys obtain some 50's clothing pieces and make it you own.

5. Color Splash

For this particular summer, bright colors are going to be a man's best friend. Traditional families say that pink is not a color for them. Well I say screw them, "true men wear pink" and any other color they please. Unfortunately spring is coming to an end and the pastel colors are getting bold, thus making it the perfect time for men to mess around with colors and just have fun with their outfits. I also know that some guys do not like to stand out from a crowd and that's ok, I suggest that you stay with neutral colors and just add one color that will give some live to your outfit. Tom Ford, for example, decided to utilized a variety of bold colors and put them over white and black. To finish of the look he puts a variety of loafers to give it a semi casual look for a summer night.

Walk The Rails

Hello everyone, so California decided to do a compelete 360 and drop the tempature. Most people were complaining due to the fact that it put a stop in their spring break plan, but to be honest, I was Ecstatic. I decided that I was going to enjoy the perfect weather and spend my day exploring a little old town called Redlands. Its really pains me to say that I go to school in this town, but hey I'm almost graduating and soon I'll be leaving. ( I wish) I ended up in the famous place the whole school has literally taken their senior picture. The long lost railroad station. The cable knit sweater that I'm wear was a gift from a friend (thanks Cleo!) with my Levi jeans to make it simple and casual to wear. I added the beanie from Toppan because I have been recently obsessed with wear beanies. Probably because I'm too lazy to do anything to my hair. oh yeah, I almost forgot, The desert boots were a Christmas present from my lovely mother.
