5 Top Trends For Summer

Summer is right around the corner, and that means men are leaving the heavy sweaters and boot for short and sandals. Here are 5 of the biggest trends for this summer.

1. White All Over

I'm one of those people that usually does not like to wear one solid color in their outfit, but I must admit white might be the only exception. White has always been one of those go to colors due to the fact that its a color for any occasion. I've noticed a broad variety of  designers, bloggers, and celebrities throwing out the gloomy colors of winter and adding white. Zara , McQueen, and Mariano Di have are rocking the white button downs and white trouser to endure this sunny summer which I must admit it may be a summer to remember.  If you guys are look to add white into your wardrobe I suggest you guy check out Topman, Zara, Asos, or All Saints.

2. The Wider The Stripes The Better

I have to admit... I am a total sucker for stripes. I am stoked to see that designers have decided to use wide stripes in their collection  to bring back the sailor look. Some designers have gone out of the box and create color blocks as their armor for their collection.  For those people who like quality and live in Europe I suggest you guys check out Oki-Ni. This site provides designer brands such as Acne, Rick Owens and many more. Now.. for those of us that are in school (and a budget) then I suggest you guys check out my currently favorite store, American Apparel

3. Warm Leather

Another big trend that will bee seen during the summer is the usage of leather, whether it is leather short, vests, or tee shirt; expect to see a lot of it on the street. Dsquared and other brands have decided to keep it simple and top of the leather with neutral colors. Now, I must warm those people that live in area's where the heat in summer reaches up to 100 degree's to probably consider if leather is a great idea to have in your closet. I would recommend you guys to probably go with a light fabric such as linen. I know Zara had a lot of linen clothing for the summer that you guys can buy if you want good quality. If you decide to wear the leather then make sure to check out Urban Outfitters or Topman.

4. 40's/ 50's Influence

My summer motto this year is "The lower the shirt, the better." I am glad to see  designers doing throwbacks in their collection utilizing short shorts, high waisted loose trousers, and open up button downs as their inspirations for this summer. Not only that, but the 50s hairstyles that were seen a lot last year are still around such as the bravado, corporate and side part hairstyles. One of my favorite looks from this summer collection was Dolce and Gabbana because they constructed the short shorts with oversized sleeves on the shirts and added mythological print such as the God Apollo and Zeus. I was amazed when I saw this collection and how they gather the big trends form the 40s/50s and made it their own masterpiece. I strongly suggest that you guys obtain some 50's clothing pieces and make it you own.

5. Color Splash

For this particular summer, bright colors are going to be a man's best friend. Traditional families say that pink is not a color for them. Well I say screw them, "true men wear pink" and any other color they please. Unfortunately spring is coming to an end and the pastel colors are getting bold, thus making it the perfect time for men to mess around with colors and just have fun with their outfits. I also know that some guys do not like to stand out from a crowd and that's ok, I suggest that you stay with neutral colors and just add one color that will give some live to your outfit. Tom Ford, for example, decided to utilized a variety of bold colors and put them over white and black. To finish of the look he puts a variety of loafers to give it a semi casual look for a summer night.

Walk The Rails

Hello everyone, so California decided to do a compelete 360 and drop the tempature. Most people were complaining due to the fact that it put a stop in their spring break plan, but to be honest, I was Ecstatic. I decided that I was going to enjoy the perfect weather and spend my day exploring a little old town called Redlands. Its really pains me to say that I go to school in this town, but hey I'm almost graduating and soon I'll be leaving. ( I wish) I ended up in the famous place the whole school has literally taken their senior picture. The long lost railroad station. The cable knit sweater that I'm wear was a gift from a friend (thanks Cleo!) with my Levi jeans to make it simple and casual to wear. I added the beanie from Toppan because I have been recently obsessed with wear beanies. Probably because I'm too lazy to do anything to my hair. oh yeah, I almost forgot, The desert boots were a Christmas present from my lovely mother.

Timberlands

Mariano Di'Vaio

In 1978 a company by the name Abington Shoe Company renamed themselves into a small company that you might have heard called  the Timberland Company. Originally, theses type of boots were meant to be utilized for workers who work under hard conditions and needed shoes that would last them and not rip easily. Thus the company saw  an opportunity and now their product line become big in the fashion world. A few celebrities have been wearing Timberlands the past year and just because its a new year, it doesnt mean they are out of style. On the contrare my friends, they are barebly getting started. Mariano Di'Vaio has been seen numerous  times wearing these boots in the streets of New York. Liam Hemsworth and Paul Rudd have been seen wearing the more modern version of the Timbers. My recommendation on how (and what occasion) to wear these boots would be to wear them on a breezy week day when your going out to grab a bite with your friends. You can wear some straight cut denim jeans (or black skinny jeans), with a plaid shirt, and a tan button down cardigan. One of the best things about Timberlands is that they are long lasting making it worth to spend  $200.

Doc Martens

Adam Gallagher

Christopher Schaller

In the 1960's, teenagers only craved for three things: Music, Art and Fashion. Greasers and pinups were the biggest trend style during that period, and during the time came the upbringing of Dr. Martens. The creator of these boots, Dr. Klaus Marten, created a sole as light as a feather and with the help of the creative Griggs family they created a "rebellion"  .Skinheads were the first subculture to adopt Dr. Matens in the early 1960s, and just a little after that they began to spill out of the East End of London, across Britain, and the world. There are clothing  brands that explode and the die out, but the Martens are definately not one of those brands. These shoes are meant to be worn without any sort of boundary. You can be tatted up, wearing shorts and a tank and they would look amazing. The point of these shoes is that it gives an extra ounce of individualism to your style whether your into punk, goth, psychobillies, glam, or straight edge. These boots are pretty amazing and one of the biggest trends last year and the year before that.

Fashion Inspirations

Adam Gallagher

One of my top inspirations is Mr. Gallagher. He is a fashion blogger who blogs about his outfits through creative stories. His style, as one would say,  is men's vogue, which basically means he is always keeping it sharp and classy. At the bottom of the his posts, he put each piece (or similar) that he is wearing with the price estimate. This allows people who have become inspired with his look to know where to buy the similar clothing/accessory . The way he wears accessories is amazing, because he doesn't over do it, but it is not simple either. He knows how to put pieces together to create an amazing outfit for a day out in the city, having some fun at the beach, or going to a premiere. Personally I believe he is becoming a big fashion icon. If you want to see more then here is a link to his website.

Edward Honaker

This is Edward, and the one thing that I can say about him is that he keeps it simple but very effective. He does not overdue with with wearing strong colors or a lot of accessories. The scenes of where his pictures are taken actually complement his outfits, and the different angle from where the pictures are being taken allow the people to see details of the outfit, the shoes being an example. In his posts he tells his viewer where he bought each piece that he is wearing. If you are the type of guy who like to dress nice, but not over due it with only a minimum of accessories, I definitely recommend you to check out his Blog. It is amazing and I ensure you that you will not regret it. He is basically the type of guy that a you can bring home for the parents to me.

Marcel Floruss

When it comes to winter, there is no one else that does it better than this man right here, Marcel. He is a German fashion blogger whose passion is seen through his style and dance moves as he demonstrated on his recent post at his website One Dapper Street. His titled blog suit him for he is always looking sharp without even trying. He is constantly doing a combination of blazers, oversized coats and plaid. I would recommend his blog to guys who like to look sharp for every occasion. Another thing is that he blogs about fashion shows that he has seen and giving us his insight on the designers collection. There are also a few times that he post videos on how to style it up. I love his style and the way he puts pieces together to make a certain item stand out. If you have recently discovered your passion for fashion, then I strongly encourage you to go and check out his blog and I guarantee that you will not regret it.

Vini Uehara

When I am feeling a little boyish, I look at Vini's blog for inspiration. This 23 year old Brazilian blogger grabbed my attention with his boyish yet highly stylish look. He is a risk taker, for he wears things that most guys would second guess themselves wearing. Vini does not care and will dress as he pleases. I absolutely love how his combination of boyish and sophisticated. On top of that, he wears his outfits with with confidence which is noticeable in his photography. If you are one of those guys who loves to think outside of the box, I would recommend you to go to his Blog and i can guarantee that you will be completely inspired and a fan of this young man.
